Wir suchen motivierte neue Mitarbeiter, die ebenso wie wir anderen Menschen dabei helfen möchten, ihre Familiengeschichte zu entdecken, zu bewahren und zu teilen. Die ausgeschriebene Tätigkeit umfasst die Digitalisierung historischer Dokumente und die Qualitätskontrolle der anfallenden Digitalisate als Mitglied unseres Digitalisierungsteams. Weiter können vorbereitende Arbeiten zur Digitalisierung der Dokumente anfallen. Der Dienstort befindet sich überwiegend am Digitalisierungsstandort in Berlin-Reinickendorf.

Job Description:

In this role you will be responsible for the digitisation of historical documents and the quality control of the resulting digital copies, as part of our wider digitisation team. Additional preparatory work for the digitisation of certain documents may also be required. The place of employment is mainly located at our Ancestry Digitisation hub in Berlin-Reinickendorf.

• Die Fähigkeit zu eigenverantwortlichem und genauem Arbeiten
• Eigeninitiative und Teamfähigkeit
• Sorgfalt bei der Handhabung historischer Dokumente
• Gute Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
• Grundkenntnisse in Microsoft Office
• Kenntnis von historischen Handschriften von Vorteil
• Erfahrungen im Umgang mit historischen Dokumenten von Vorteil
• Englischkenntnisse von Vorteil

Responsibilities:

• Interest in genealogy/history
• The aptitude to acquire a knowledge of scanning techniques
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written German, knowledge of English is an advantage
• Care in handling historical documents
• Knowledge of historical handwritten manuscripts is an advantage
• Experience using Microsoft Office products

Es wird eine befristete Anstellung ausgeschrieben. Die Wochenarbeitszeit beträgt 40 Stunden. Die Vergütung beträgt 14 €/h.

This is a temporary position. The working week is 40 hours, and the remuneration is 14 €/h.
