Ancestry is looking for an experienced Marketplaces and e-tail expert to join our team and lead the expansion and optimization of Ancestry throughout our global partner channels.

As part of the Commercialization team, you will have the experience and drive to own Ancestry’s expansion within third-party retail ecosystems and aggressively grow partnerships with major e-tail (ecommerce) partners. Third-party retail is a major part of the overall success of Ancestry, and we are looking for a driven individual who can continue to optimize and grow the success of this program. Reporting to the Sr. Director of eCommerce, this role will have the opportunity to work with all parts of the Ancestry business, including Marketing, Product, Finance, DNA Operations, International. This role is also a manager of others who will participate in eCommerce work.

What You'll Do:

  • Set and drive overall strategy for growing Ancestry sales on Amazon, Walmart, and future new retail channels, including pricing and revenue optimization
  • Own Ancestry’s seller relationship with third-party marketplaces – communication, negotiation, navigating processes and finding solutions
  • Manage marketing spend on third-party ad platforms
  • Manage a team of marketplace marketers
  • Lead expansion into and optimization of international sales
  • Provide constant analysis of customer data and how Ancestry can better meet the needs of customers purchasing our products on third-party marketplaces
  • Oversee product page optimization to maximize product exposure, maintain top organic search rankings and increase conversion rates; manage paid SEM channel and display advertising spend within the third-party ecosystems with a laser focus on spend efficacy
  • Monitor and respond to competitive activity as well as customer feedback to garner top-notch ratings
  • Provide weekly sales and analytics reporting
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to improve business logistics and ensure optimized product supply
  • Collaborate with other Marketing teams to create compelling campaigns
  • Identify strategic eCommerce and e-tail/retail partnerships
  • Negotiate and launch these partnerships to expand Ancestry’s distribution networks
  • Build team to manage and optimize the performance of these ecommerce/retail channels

Who You Are:

  • You are a business builder. You know third-party marketplaces better than your competitors
  • You know how to build and nurture relationships both internally and externally to achieve mutual goals
  • Experience implementing best practices for large brands on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, etc. marketplaces
  • Self-starter with the ability to own and lead initiatives within an organization
  • Expert negotiator able to deliver win-win partnerships
  • Possess strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
  • Strong digital marketing skills, including campaign management and search engine marketing (SEM). You understand the key drivers of partnership success and strategically and operationally optimize relationships to achieve revenue goals
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus
