The Growth and Experimentation domain designs and implements A/B tests and tools to get learnings quickly and accelerate revenue growth by improving the product experience. The Experimentation team builds A/B testing tools to facilitate the setup and execution of A/B tests, provides ability to analyze test data and gather important insights into various business metrics that were impacted by the tests. This team collaborates with Analytics, Engineering, Product and Marketing stakeholders to define and execute on Ancestry’s Experimentation strategy and implements it including the cross functional alignment that is needed to experiment at scale. 


As a Sr. Technical Product Manager on this team, you will be aligning the Experimentation Framework capabilities with engineering and analytics goals and spearheading the effort to constantly improve our experimentation capabilities. 


With a bias for action and solid grasp of current experimentation tools and strategies, you will realize our vision of utilizing technology to make our experimentation process fast, effective, and intuitive.

What you will do...

  • Work with Analytics, Engineering and Product teams to understand their needs and expectations from the experimentation process and come up with creative product solutions to provide a solution and satisfy growth metrics and goals.
  • Using our experimentation framework (Split Manager, Prototype Framework, Split.io, StatSig), you will promote product improvements and inform the product roadmap with new ideas based on ongoing research, latest standards, and product performance, providing strategic direction to teams of engineers
  • Write user stories and prioritize the backlog for engineering teams building marketing technology using Agile methodologies
  • Establish success metrics need to monitor post-launch performance to guide incremental improvements
  • Help communication between Analytics and Engineering before, during, and after the integration and configuration of third-party solutions
  • Collaborate with partners in other organizations, guiding teams to ensure all teams are coordinated throughout product development
  • Represent your team in communication with Analytics, Engineering, and Product leadership.

What you'll do

  •  Work closely with Analytics, Engineering and Product teams to understand their needs and expectations from the experimentation process and come up with innovative product solutions to provide a robust solution and deliver against growth metrics and objectives.
  • Utilizing our experimentation framework (Split Manager, Prototype Framework, Split.io, StatSig), you will drive continuous product improvements and inform the product roadmap with new ideas based on ongoing research, emerging standards, and product performance, providing strategic direction to teams of engineers.
  • Write user stories and prioritize the backlog for engineering teams building and implementing marketing technology using agile methodologies.
  • Define success metrics and reporting needs to monitor post-launch performance to drive incremental improvements.
  • Act as the liaison between Analytics and Engineering before, during, and after the integration and configuration of third-party solutions.
  • Communicate, collaborate and work effectively with business partners in other organizations, guiding cross-functional teams to ensure all teams are coordinated throughout the product development process.
  • Represent your team in communication with Analytics, Engineering, and Product leadership..

Who you are

  • You have an understanding of the growth and A/B testing landscape, coupled with deep knowledge of SDLC (Software development lifecycle) and Agile methodologies.
  • You should have an in-depth understanding of and experience with data infrastructure, data workflows, and statistics concepts. If you are someone who looks at disconnected systems, user interfaces, processes, and marketing campaign efforts as an opportunity to connect, iterate, and learn from, then this is a great role for you.
  • You have experience with various A/B testing tools such as Adobe Target, Split.io, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly  etc. or have worked on initiatives involving these tools.
  • You are a creative problem solver with a history of performance excellence with a balance of big-picture thinking and detailed execution.
  • Ideally, you have experience working on growth initiatives and are passionate about blending both your growth expertise and product management skills to develop highly utilized technologies at the platform level.
  • Strong track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative cross- functional relationships and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives including the integration and configuration of third-party marketing technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or similar discipline.
