Ancestry is looking for a Staff Product Analyst to join our team in San Francisco or in Lehi. Reporting to our Senior Manager, Product Analytics, you will work with massive datasets and have the opportunity to shape the vision and strategic role of Product Analytics. You will work with members of Product, Marketing, Data Science, and Engineering teams to analyze customer behaviors using causal inference and experiments with the ultimate goal to improve our products/content and identify the next area of opportunity.

What you will do...

  • As an important partner on the Product Management team, you will participate in product planning, new product design, review and product feature improvement
  • Collaborate as a subject-matter expert in the design of experiments with the objective of increasing the reliability of our experiment setup and inference.
  • Run exploratory analyses, uncover new areas of opportunity, create hypotheses, and quickly assess the potential upside of a given opportunity for potential future testing.
  • Establish the statistical inference process in experiments and standardize that across the product analytics team.
  • Conduct causal inference analyses to guide company wide projects and important product decisions.
  • Improve the experimentation methodology to solve complex product scenarios.
  • Mentor and advise product analysts on the experiment design and data analysis.
  • Stand as an expert and role model for collaboration within the product analytics team and across teams of different functions.

Who you are...

  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience at senior level analyzing product and content user behavior for online consumer software products, e.g. online shopping, social site, streaming services, gaming.
  • Proficient in analyzing very large datasets with SQL and R/Python.
  • Subject matter expert of causal inference with experience applying that to real-world
  • Knowledgeable in advanced topics such as Bayesian Statistics, Variance Reduction Methods and Global Holdout.
  • Experience demonstrating and communicating on quantitative topics
  • Graduate Degree in Statistics, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a quantitative discipline
  • Research and analytical mindset
