Ancestry is looking for an analytical Vice President, Media and Marketing to lead Brand and Direct Response marketing efforts for Ancestry's Suite of Products including DNA and Family History Subscriptions. With a budget of $150M+ across traditional and digital channels, you will integrate traditional brand and performance marketing into a cohesive / holistic customer acquisition strategy and will develop and build go-to-market plans, deeply understand the Ancestry product portfolio, important financial Drivers/Measurements and take a customer-focused lens on new media opportunities.

As the VP Marketing, you will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, and partner very closely with various team members across the business including Creative, Onsite, CRM, Martech and Analytics. This role will be located physically in either Lehi, Utah or San Francisco, California with the option to work remotely.

What you will do...

  • Develop clear, impactful media strategies for both BAU and Promotional periods for Ancestry's US suite of products and services
  • Allocate Ancestry's $150M+ Brand (TV, OLV, OTT, Social, Display, etc.) and Performance Marketing budgets (Search, Affiliates & Partners, Social, Programmatic Display, etc.) to lead efficient revenue growth.
  • Partner with external agencies, Creative, Onsite, CRM, Martech, Legal, Finance and Analytics teams to prioritize execution of promotions, events, new initiatives, data strategy, A/B testing, measurement and launch timing
  • Lead strategy, measure ROAS opportunities, identify important partnerships, influencers, advisors and align priority activities with primary product and initiative advancements
  • Analyze consumer trends in real-time (usage, engagement, retention, conversion, etc.) to identify key opportunities and acquisition optimizations
  • Identify core audience segments, use 1st party data and develop strategies to maximize product reach
  • Present and promote plans to the Executive Management team and other teams/leadership groups throughout the organization, domestic and international
  • Build consensus among cross-functional partners to ensure appropriate buy-in and support of initiatives and influence decision making within executive-level audiences
  • Develop marketing timelines for input into the Integrated Marketing function
  • Evolve how the team uses data to guide product and marketing strategy
  • Establish reporting, including indicators and tracking to goals

Who you are...

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications or related experience
  • 15+ years of advertising / media buying experience in an ecommerce/online services, subscription technology company required
  • Investment Experience of $150M+ Media Budget required
  • Ability to communicate and influence: 1:1, in small groups, written & PowerPoint, and sharing facts within a compelling story
  • Can synthesize information from multiple sources and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Demonstrated experience building organizational relationships, promoting open communication, and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Must be adaptable to changing demands based on the needs of the organization
