Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that help foster a more inclusive culture at Ancestry. Our seven ERGs – Asia Pacific @ Ancestry, Ancestry Women in Technology, Black Roots, Honor, Somos, Ability and PRIDE – provide a safe space for employees to discuss a wide range of topics, share their experiences, and partner with teams across the company to inform inclusive business initiatives.
With events like brown bag sessions, quarterly speaker series, and semi-annual service projects, AWIT is creating a global network for the Ancestry workforce and promoting a culture of empowerment.
Black Roots mission is to champion Black employees and customers to enhance Ancestry's business through recruitment, employee engagement, community partnership and customer experience.
Honor's mission is to foster a community of support, hiring, and training for those who have served or are currently serving in the military, by creating an inclusive work environment that recognizes and fully utilizes the value of veterans.
APAC empowers Asian employees and our allies at Ancestry from around the world. Through education and awareness, we embrace our diverse lived experiences, backgrounds, and identities to build an inclusive and supportive environment where fruitful conversations can arise.
The Pride mission is to foster the story of LGBTQIA+ employees and allies by creating an inclusive and supportive work environment where we can give everyone a greater sense of identity, relatedness, and place in the world.
Somos advocates for the Latin American community, enhancing Ancestry by championing these employees and customers through education, community building, recruitment and optimization of the customer experience.

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn and grow from so many strong women, both in my family, my social networks and at work. Through the Ancestry Women in Technology (AWIT) Employee Resource Group, I’ve been able to support women not only here in the U.S., but women all around the world. One of my favorite memories was when we helped deliver hygiene kits to girls in India and Africa. It was a truly rewarding and inspiring experience.

Being part of the Black Roots Employee Resource Group (ERG) means a lot to me. I want to ensure that Black employees at Ancestry have a voice, representation, and equity within our company. Additionally, Black Roots is powerful because our mission takes into account our Black customers who also deserve a voice, representation, and equity within our product.
