Ancestry is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the personalization strategy, roadmap, and execution for our rapidly expanding Family History product line. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you’ll focus on creating engaging, personalized experiences for a global consumer audience. In this role, you’ll partner with a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, data scientists, and marketers to deliver innovative, data-driven product solutions that enhance the user journey. We’re looking for an experienced consumer-facing product manager with a deep understanding of user behavior, a hypothesis-driven mindset, and the ability to translate complex challenges into impactful, user-centric experiences.
What You Will Do...
Lead the Personalization Strategy: Define and execute the vision for personalization across Ancestry’s consumer platforms, tailoring experiences to individual user needs and behaviors.
Shape Customer-Centric Roadmaps: Develop and prioritize a roadmap focused on delivering personalization initiatives that drive user engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
Deliver Direct-to-Consumer Experiences: Leverage data-driven insights and user feedback to create highly relevant, engaging, and intuitive product features for a diverse global audience.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work with design, engineering, data science, and marketing to implement personalization strategies that align with both user needs and business objectives.
Optimize the User Journey: Apply personalization strategies at key moments—from onboarding to discovery and beyond—to create seamless, intuitive, and rewarding experiences.
Innovate and Experiment: Lead the ideation, testing, and iteration of new personalization concepts designed to enhance engagement and deliver meaningful value to users.
Leverage Data and Analytics: Use behavioral insights, A/B testing, and advanced analytics to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously improve user-centric experiences.
Advocate for the Customer: Act as the voice of the user, ensuring all personalization initiatives are meaningful, valuable, and ethically designed.
Who You Are...
You have 5+ years of experience in consumer-facing product management, with a focus on personalization, user engagement, or customer experience for direct-to-consumer platforms.
You have a proven track record of driving measurable improvements in user engagement and retention through innovative personalization strategies.
You are skilled at leveraging consumer insights to craft impactful features and experiences, and you thrive in a fast-paced, user-centric environment.
You have strong data and analytics expertise, including A/B testing, cohort analysis, and behavioral modeling, to guide decision-making and measure impact.
You are passionate about understanding user pain points and designing intuitive, personalized solutions that enhance their journey.
You excel in cross-functional collaboration, translating business and technical requirements into clear strategies and driving alignment across teams.
You can effectively communicate your vision, strategy, and results to stakeholders at all levels.
You have a strong understanding of modern personalization tools, machine learning models, and recommendation systems and how to apply them in direct-to-consumer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on large-scale consumer products or in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) tech company.
Familiarity with personalization platforms, recommendation engines, and machine learning technologies.
Knowledge of genealogy, historical research, or Ancestry-related content is a plus.

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $152,010 - $173,790 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
