Reporting to the Chief People Officer,  the Senior Director, Total Rewards will be a senior leader within the People team and will work closely with business leaders, HR colleagues, and cross-functional partners. This person will oversee Ancestry’s Total Rewards team and is responsible for long term strategic planning as well as executing the work their team is responsible for..

What you will do...

  • Partner with the Chief People Officer  to shape the vision and strategy for Total Rewards programs that attract, engage, and retain talent. 

  • Provide consultative leadership on broad-based, global compensation decisions, guidelines, and policies, including developing solutions to complex compensation challenges.

  • Align rewards practices with broader people and business strategies to ensure consistency, equity, and competitiveness.

  • Partner with the HRBP team to ensure strategic compensation decisions directly support business priorities, strengthen succession pipelines, and drive retention of top and critical talent.

  • Support preparation of materials and analyses in partnership with the SVP, People & Places, for use with the Senior Leadership Team and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.

  • Lead the design, strategy, annual planning, and implementation of global benefits programs, including Health & Welfare, Retirement, Voluntary Benefits, and Wellness Initiatives.

  • Contribute subject matter expertise to IPO readiness, execution, and M&A integration efforts in collaboration with senior leaders.

  • Design and oversee communication and education efforts to help employees, leaders, and candidates understand the value of Total Rewards programs.

  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on delivering excellent employee experiences.

  • Oversee design, implementation, administration, and reporting of equity compensation programs.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and international regulations, supporting audits, monitoring spending, and aligning programs with legal requirements.

  • Partner with HR Operations and Systems teams to enhance processes, increase efficiencies, and improve employee touchpoints.

  • Guide the People technology roadmap and ensure Workday and other platforms are optimized to meet business needs.

  • Partner with Finance to define and manage budgets for compensation, benefits, and equity.

Who you are...

  • 10+ years of Total Rewards experience in a global, scaling organization.

  • Minimum 5 years of team leadership experience in compensation and benefits.

  • Ability to evolve rewards strategy in response to market and business changes; able to simplify complexity into clear, actionable plans.

  • Experience supporting Compensation Committee processes and/or working within a Private Equity backed or public company environment required; IPO or M&A experience a plus.

  • Strong business acumen and credibility with senior leaders across the organization, with a particular emphasis in equity compensation.

  • Strong EQ and collaboration skills; able to bring people along through change and build engagement across the organization.

  • Deep knowledge of compliance, transparency, and regulatory requirements.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; effective at company-wide communication.

  • Data-driven leader with strong analytical skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Experience managing global vendors and brokers.

  • High integrity and discretion when managing confidential information.

  • Hands-on, proactive approach with willingness to roll up your sleeves.

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $188,280 - $235,350 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
