The Director of Talent Development (TD) will provide strategic leadership and consultation for the talent development team. This position is responsible for the development, launch, delivery and evaluation of programs, tools, and processes to build and sustain organizational and leadership capability and development. This role will be tasked with ensuring we provide strategic learning and development models, frameworks, technologies and ways of working that drive impact, efficiency, effectiveness and scalability, underpinned by robust governance.

In this critical role, you will be working strategically at the cutting edge of learning innovation, skills and learning resulting in growth and business impact. This role will manage a team of two which includes the Sr. Talent Development Specialist and Talent Development Specialist. 

What you will do...

  • Ability to align TD initiatives and frameworks with Ancestry’s Global strategy, set a clear vision, and lead their team towards strategic objectives; 

  • Strong business acumen and ability to negotiate and manage expectations of business sponsors, build networks, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships 

  • In-depth knowledge of processes for determining current and future workforce/skills requirements, skill gap analysis, and the ability to develop strategies to meet those needs

  • Proven expertise in defining and cultivating a growth mindset culture and TD function that embraces continuous learning and adaptability to change

  • Leading TD strategies and initiatives for a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce resulting in delivering impactful learning initiatives and programs that are linked to business strategy and revenue goals

  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline

  • Highly Collaborative and willingness to build strong relations with your colleagues, stakeholders and leadership to foster collaboration and trust. 

  • Project Management: You are strategic and have a keen ability to see down the field, create clear OKRs and what it takes to plan, execute and oversee team projects from inception to completion

  • High Inclusive Leadership Capabilities: Possess inclusive leadership traits of cultural intelligence, respectful curiosity, cognizance and courage. 

  • Demonstrated experience in consulting or successfully translating internal business strategies into effective strategy, policies and frameworks for a range of business units and regions

  • Proven ability to assess complex operational challenges, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $131,580 - $164,430 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
