We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team in Lehi, UT. This is an opportunity to work with unique, large data sets focused on data observability. You will take a lead role in furthering the big data footprint at Ancestry and work closely with Business Intelligence, Data Infrastructure, and Data Services teams in developing and maturing our data systems and architecture.

What You Will Do:

  • Be a critical part of the Data Platform team, be responsible for scaling and validating the data platform to meet Ancestry’s data growth.

  • Develop, deploy, and support a real-time data observability application to track thousands of data pipelines.

  • Deploy IAC (Infrastructure as Code) to lay down the infrastructure that the data pipelines utilize.

Who You Are:

  • Expert in Java 17 and a framework such as Spring Boot with 6+ years of experience in an enterprise environment

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field required

  • Experience in Big Data ecosystems, including Spark and Kafka

  • Proficiency in database technologies MySQL (Aurora), Redshift or equivalent

  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure as code tool

  • Experience with SCM tools such as git, Jenkins build and deployment automation

  • RESTful web service development

  • Experience with AWS Cloud automated deployments

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $83,160 - $103,950 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
