Ancestry seeks an exceptional, passionate, and highly motivated Android engineer to join our mobile app team. The team is primarily focused on creating, enhancing, and maintaining software features for Ancestry’s popular mobile apps. As an Android Engineer on the mobile team, you will work with other software engineers, quality engineers, product managers, and designers to define and implement features on our mobile app. You will be a full participant on the team and will be involved in the entire product lifecycle from conception to implementation to delivery. Your contributions will be seen by millions of users.

What you will do:

• Deliver powerful Android experiences that impact people’s lives in the exciting fields of Genealogy and DNA Analysis

• Work with engineers and architects to come up with solutions to optimize development across multiple platforms

• Build upon a mobile-centric backend infrastructure to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base

• Participate in product and technical planning, contributing to roadmap prioritization, feature design discussions, and detailed development plans.

• Maintain high quality through code reviews and unit testing

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Hands on experience creating Android mobile apps and mobile app features using Kotlin and Compose

• Experience using RESTful and/or Graphql APIs in Kotlin

• Strong team player; enjoys collaborating with others to improve outcomes

Nice to have:

• Interest in Genealogy

• Experience with KMP

• Dependency injection with dagger/hilt

• GraphQL

• Understanding of and experience with architecture design patterns

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $92,350- $115,380 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
