We are looking for a talented Staff AI Engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity to help pioneer our new AI platform to dramatically accelerate AI initiatives at Ancestry. You will take a fast-paced role in unlocking the vast potential of artificial intelligence and data science at Ancestry and work closely with both back-end, front-end, and Data Science teams in supporting advanced AI patterns in our cutting-edge AI platform supporting customer-facing and data processing teams.

What you will do...

• Be a critical part of the ML Platform team to contribute to a cutting-edge AI platform to leverage the latest LLM agentic frameworks with Ancestry’s scale of data to millions of customers

• Work deeply with back-end and front-end teams to enable next-level AI experiences

• Help manage AWS Cloud services for scalable AI infrastructure management

Who you are…

• Advanced knowledge of Python with 4+ years of experience in an enterprise environment

• Experience with the Large Language Models, including OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and open-weight models including prompt engineering best practices

• Agentic framework experience with Langchain / LangGraph, Google Agents or AWS Strands a strong plus

• Working knowledge of vector databases such as ElasticSearch and embedding models a plus

• Experience in cloud-native environments, especially AWS

• Experience with SCM tools such as GIT, SVN, Jenkins build and deployment automation

• RESTful web service development

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix, scripting and administration

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field required

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $118,710 - $148,410 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
