Ancestry.com Operations Inc. seeks Data Scientist (Applied AI Senior Engineer) in Draper, UT
Job Duties: Conduct research into fundamental computer and information science problems and develop solutions in the field of computer hardware and software. Apply theoretical expertise and innovation to create and apply new technology, such as developing ML/AI solutions, deploying data science ML/AI models into production and building AI platforms. Work with other data scientists to find and solve engineering pain points by building scalable, general-use platforms. Use data science to drive product innovation, customer success, and content creation. Develop tooling and infrastructure to support data scientists with model development. Champion a data-driven culture and push long-term business value creation through development of best-in-class data science tools. Develop solutions involving computer hardware and software. Draw upon machine learning techniques i.e. entity extraction, document classification, topic modeling, computer vision methods, object detection, and image classification to optimize model performance. Support model development, feature engineering, and develop feature generation pipelines. Formulate mathematical models of problems for solution by computers. Full-time telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
