Ancestry is looking for a project-based temporary Archival Content Prep Specialist to work on a contract basis in Orem, UT. We ask that you are a person with experience working with archival documents, detail hands-on work, and goal-oriented projects. You are efficient, show great care for your work, and are accustomed to independent work in an environment that handles focused, careful, and repetitive tasks. This is a full-time opportunity working 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. You will report to the Domestic Remote Senior Imaging Manager. This is not a work-from-home position. You will be contract-based and not eligible for Ancestry benefits. Compensation will be $17/hour.
What You Will Do:
  • You will be detail oriented and carefully check digitized images against actual historic content to ensure accuracy.
  • You will unbind bound volumes according to our rules and standards
  • You will organize data as needed, both physical and digital, which may include the use of spreadsheets
  • You will take care with accurate reporting of the work done
Who You Are:
  • You can manage several projects and determine project urgency in a practical way.
  • You have excellent physical organization skills and an extremely careful and cautious approach to historic content
  • You are efficient with your time and can concentrate on detailed hands- on work for long periods of time
  • You have experience anticipating problems, and finding creative ways to solve them.
  • You have experience with Photography, Library and Archives, or History background.
  • You can lift upwards of 50 lbs. and are comfortable with the use of small warehouse equipment.
